JCI Reading's 2012 Charity - Guide Dogs For The Blind
JCI Reading have chosen to support Guide Dogs for the Blind for 2012. The charity is well known and has a broad appeal to those who support both human and animal charities. As it is a nationally well known charity, it will enable JCI members to easily enlist the support of friends and families from further afield than Reading.
Guide Dogs for the Blind also allows a range of ways that JCI members can choose to give their support. Obviously there are huge fundraising opportunities and JCI Reading have committed to an aim to raise at least £2,500 to name a guide dog puppy. We look forward to naming 'Jaycee' and wishing him well on his Guide Dog career - we know he'll have a huge impact on a blind person's life. There will be a whole range of fundraising projects that will give members the opportunity to become involved, raise their own and the awareness of others and have real local impact.
There are numerous other ways in which members can offer their support through JCI Reading to Guide Dogs for the Blind - either by way of individual or group JCI projects. There are always Guide Dog events to attend and support or even help with, volunteering in dog contact and non-dog contact roles, puppy walking, assisting at training and residential venues and supporting the campaigns run by the charity.
JCI Reading looks forward to an exciting and rewarding 2012 with Guide Dogs for the Blind and welcoming members support.
JCI Reading 2012 Recycling Project
JCI Reading recognises that in many cases, we have become a 'throw away' nation. Aside from regular 'run of the mill' council recycling there are many items that we regularly throw away, adding to the landfill sites.
In fact this so-called 'waste' is not rubbish at all, but offers a huge fundraising opportunity. JCI Reading have chosen to embrace this opportunity both to support their 2012 charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind, by turning 'waste' into money, but also change the opinions of their members and supporters by making people think about what is thrown away and the value that this 'waste' can have.
